Director
The
Development
Director is responsible for leading all fundraising activities and initiatives aimed at securing funding for the FDNY operations and programs. The director will develop, implement and oversee a comprehensive fundraising plan with the goal of expanding philanthropic support. This includes identifying and strengthening relationships with current stakeholders, actively pursuing and managing corporate and individual donors, fostering strong donor and sponsor relationships, and seeking, apply and manage grant funding. This position involves planning and executing FDNY Foundation's cultivation and fundraising events. Responsibilities
Design and implement an annual
Development
Plan to sustain the fiscal health of the organization and provide future financial resources for growth and expansion. Including but not limited to cultivation, stewardship, writing, and management of grant applications for:
Annual giving, Individual (major) giving, Institutional Giving (foundations, corporations, partnerships), special events, and other opportunities to raise funds to support the FDNY Foundation mission.
Develop strong relationships within the community to continue the FDNY excellent image
Collaborate with the Executive Director, Chief, Board of Directors, Associate Board and the

team for inquiries related to donations and fundraising events.
Cultivate and steward relationships with current and potential donors, both individuals and institutional, to ensure their engagement with and long-term commitment to the organization’s mission.
enhance plan to collect, organize, and maintain a complete and accurate database record of donors and funding received. Utilize fundraising data and analytics to evaluate campaign effectiveness, make informed strategic decisions, and identify areas for improvement.
Creates funding targets for board and Associate Board. Establishes tracking tools and monitor monthly goals.
Work collaboratively with fundraising event chairs to offer management and oversight. Including developing and managing production timeline, budget, and evaluation.
Design and produce annual giving campaign. Work with team on marketing, promotional and outreach materials.
Oversee the creation of fundraising collateral including proposals, case statements, and impact reports that resonate with various donor segments.
Effectively communicate the organization’s mission, vision, and impact to donors, partners, and the broader community through presentations, social media, materials, and events.

Work effectively as a member of the FDNY Foundation team in a rapid work environment
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree; Master’s Degree a plus.
Proven track record of at least 4 years of
development
experience, with demonstrable results across multiple funding streams.
Strong understanding of fundraising principles, strategies, and trends in the non-profit sector.
Experience in establishing and institutionalizing donor database best practices.
Passion for the FDNY Foundation mission and commitment to its values.
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, challenging, constantly changing environment.
Overall flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
A dedicated work ethic, diligence, and readiness to be a hands-on team member to help foster a collaborative and goal driven environment.
Excellent writing and computer skills in Excel, data analysis and creating data visualizations.
