The Community Intervention Unit Data Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing data from police reports related to juvenile violence, gang involvement, and serious crimes. The Community Intervention Unit Data Analyst will conduct various administrative functions, including data mining, entry and dissemination, building and maintaining data for the Community Intervention Unit, creating reports for internal and public dissemination and special projects as directed.
NOTE: This is a full-time, grant-funded position working 40 hours per week with funding secured through 12/31/2027. Funding beyond that time cannot be guaranteed.- Review daily community intervention related case referrals
- Search for relevant information in a variety of databases, and enter referrals into Share Point
- Participate with Cities United network webinars, conferences and discussions to advance positive outcomes for young Black men and boys
- Upload data into Power BI for ready access to information. Complete a threat assessment of all referrals through coding and analysis
- Produce subject bulletins as required
- Respond to data requests from individuals within the department, other agency requests, and requests from the public
- Provide analytical support during major case investigations such as leads tracking, links construction and analysis, crime mapping, or other duties as directed
- Network with other analysts from other jurisdictions to promote intelligence and information sharing
- Provide positive presence and assistance for partnering and community-based events and activities
- Manage tracking of donations, uniforms, and grant reported materials
- Performs other duties as assigned
Education
Associate’s degree in forensics, criminal justice, business management, public administration, statistics, or closely related field
Experience
Minimum of two years' experience with programs and data collection
Previous related experience, which includes:- Experience with Microsoft Office programs and applications, including Power BI, and ability to navigate a records management system
- Statistical analysis
Equivalency
An equivalent combination of education and experience closely related to the duties of the position MAY be considered

Anticipated Hiring Wage:
