Position Summary:
The Grants & Institutional Giving Manager leads Janus Youth Programs’ foundation, corporate and public grant strategy. The GIGM has the primary responsibility for securing and stewarding institutional revenue.
This role develops and manages a strong pipeline of institutional funders, crafts compelling proposals and reports, and builds relationships that support long-term investment in Janus Youth’s mission.
Working closely with the Chief Resource Development Officer (CRDO) and Director of Donor & Corporate Engagement, this position plays a key role in strengthening and diversifying Janus Youth’s funding model beyond government resources.
Key Responsibilities
Institutional Funding Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for foundation, corporate and public grant funding
- Build and manage a pipeline of institutional funding opportunities
- Identify, research and pursue new funders aligned with Janus Youth’s mission and priorities
- Establish revenue goals and track progress across institutional funding streams
Proposal Development & Submission
- Write and submit high-quality, compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry and reports
- Translate program data, outcomes and impact into clear, persuasive narratives
- Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather required information and ensure accuracy
Funder Stewardship & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with family, small and large foundation and institutional partners
- Coordinate reporting, updates and engagement opportunities
- Partner with CRDO and Director of Donor & Corporate Engagement to align outreach and stewardship across shared funders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with program staff to understand priorities, outcomes and funding needs
- Collaborate with development and communications staff to ensure consistent messaging across funders and donors
- Support alignment between institutional strategy and broader fundraising efforts
Tracking, Reporting & Compliance
- Manage grant calendar, deadlines and reporting requirements
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all deliverables
- Maintain organized records in CRM and grants tracking systems
- Monitor grant performance and funding trends to inform strategy
Qualifications
- 5–8+ years of experience in grant writing and institutional fundraising
- Demonstrated success securing foundation, corporate, and/or public funding
- Strong writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives
- Experience managing multiple deadlines and complex projects
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- Experience collaborating with program and leadership teams
