Bioforcetech is a Bay Area sustainable technology company turning organic waste into carbon-negative materials through our proprietary systems and applying them through our OurCarbon® brand. We’ve recently received a major grant to expand our work — and we’re seeking a detail-oriented Grants & Communications Associate to help us track progress, coordinate projects, apply for further grants, and share our story.

About the Role

You’ll support our team by coordinating milestones and reporting for active grants, assisting with new funding applications in North America and the EU, and by writing clear, engaging communications that highlight our impact. This role is perfect for someone with 1–5 years’ experience in project coordination, grants support, or communications who thrives in an organized, mission-driven environment. As detailed below, it is important for the applicant to not only have relevant experience and a strong skillset, but also to want to be part of a business that can deliver on this potential and fulfill the vision of BFT. To that end, the applicant should be mission-driven, a self-starter, and highly capable of executing not only the day-to-day duties, but also capable of driving impactful initiatives and using a multitude of skills on duties simple/menial and complex/of leadership level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track project deliverables and deadlines; support internal reporting for grant projects
  • Work with key partners and internal team members to gather necessary data and insights on grant project tasks and goals
  • Aid in creating contingency plans, identifying bottlenecks, and creating solutions for inevitable and unexpected changes to grant executions
  • Assist with grant proposals, submissions, and documentation, working with senior staff and team members to bring project concepts through the entire development process to submission. We envision needing support of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Carry out market and scientific research and gather data to be provide context for proposals and market development, growing our knowledge base across BFT.
  • Liaise with external partners to obtain information, develop projects, and cultivate relationships.
  • Write blog posts, reports, and updates about Bioforcetech and OurCarbon
  • Support storytelling and outreach efforts

Qualifications

  • 3 years experience minimum in grant writing, grant management, and/or project management
    • Strong plus having experience in public grants
  • Strong writing, organization, and independent-work skills
  • Scientific and/or technical knowledge is necessary to assess and describe our subject matter
  • Experience with U.S. and/or EU grants a plus

Salary and Benefits

$75,000-85,000 DOE + Health, Vision, Dental
